PUCV - My Experience as International Educator from 1994 to 2002

As Director’s Assistant at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso, under the leadership of María Luisa Figueroa, Ana María served as the primary liaison between the International Programs Office and Program or Resident Directors.

She assisted incoming international students with applications, visas, course registration, housing, and general guidance, while coordinating their academic schedules and assigning projects aligned with their fields of study.

She supported budget management, created and maintained the study abroad website, and contributed to initiatives designed to attract international students to Chile. Additionally, she worked part-time for Dr. Skye Stephenson Glade, CIEE Latin America Director.

Among her key achievements, she significantly increased the number of incoming students between 1994 and 2002 by designing student-centered programs and leading online marketing campaigns, and expanded partnerships with reputable study abroad providers such as ISA, IFSA-Butler, and CIEE.
